Embracing technology while using decades of experience to give players the best possible chance to be the best they can be. From 2015 to 2020 E&G helped 20 local players get to the college level.  E&G moved to a new facility in 2021 and is still developing players under the new name Ignite Baseball. Now there have been 37 players that have moved onto the college level. Ian continues to develop players of all ages in baseball and softball.

Shannon Evans

Development Coach

Shannon Evans, moved to Santa Fe with his family when he was 9. An early passion for the game of baseball developed when he was young. Shannon played Little League baseball for the National Little League in Santa Fe. He quickly made a name for himself as one of the better players in the league even at a young age. Shannon continued to play baseball in Santa Fe through High School and eventually was invited to play in several rookie camps. He went to camps for the Reds, the Cubs and the San Francisco Giants. Unfortunately he was never invited to continue playing for any of those clubs. Now, Shannon works for the Los Alamos County Fire Department and volunteers his time on the board of the Santa Fe Little League. Shannon was also one of the coaches that helped coach the Santa Fe Little League All Star team to its first district title in 18 years. Shannon has two sons who both play baseball for Santa Fe little League. Shannon has worked hard to develop himself into a capable instructor and coach. He has, in addition to playing time, received his certification from Driveline in Youth Coaching and development, and a USA Baseball “C” coaching Certification.

Rene Roque

Catching Skills and Development Coach

Rene Roque grew up in Arizona playing baseball through his young ages of little league baseball through the levels of Arizona Colleges. Rene found the love for catching during his time in little league. As he grew up focusing his love and passion for the game he put all his efforts and hard work to becoming an elite Catcher behind home plate. While improving his skills growing up he attended many baseball camps held by U of A (University of Arizona) and ASU (Arizona State University), these helped him to develop and excel his skills behind the plate and on the field. Rene traveled all through the southwest playing in some of the toughest tournaments California, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado had to offer. His high school achievements began his sophomore year when he was selected to the 1st Team All State and 1st Team All District teams which he maintained for the remainder of his high school career. This all led to the small stint in the Arizona Collegiate level of the game. Once the days of playing ball came to an end Rene moved to New Mexico and started his new career in Information Technology and Telecommunications. Once his kids started playing ball he spent the next 15 years coaching them in both baseball and softball. Once they became older and started their HS careers he tried to step away and be a dad, and just watch the games. Well that didn’t last long after only taking a couple years off from coaching he then took on a position as the Head JV Coach for Santa Fe High School for the past 3 seasons. To him coaching at that level is most important, being able to teach discipline and technique of those key fundamentals in the game of baseball.
